E-Flite Blade Tandem Rescue RTF

Skip to the E-Flite mCX Tandem Rescue video below!

If you have traveled "up north" you may recognize this as a scale themed Boeing CH-113 Labrador known as the "yellow banana". It is best known for its role as a "Search & Rescue" helicopter in the outer reaches of Canada.

The "Labrador" turned out to be an excellent choice for the E-Flite mCX Tandem Rescue dual co-axial helicopter. Nice scale theme, light-weight, manueverable and complete.

How could they make a dual rotor heli so light weight - simple - E-Flite = innovation!

The mCX Tandem Rescue does not use pitch servos, instead it only uses the cyclic - ailerons functions, dropping two servos saves weight.

mCX Tandem Rescue MotorsSo instead of pitch changes with servos - the mCX Tandem Rescue uses changes in the lift between the fore and aft rotors making it not only stable. But the twin rotors gives us some incredible flight abilities, being able to rotate the heli around its nose or center is quite unique. You'd have to see it!

The redesigned 5-n-1 mixes the four rotor functions flawlessly, add a 2.4ghz dsm2 interference free radio system, plus as a bonus the 5-n-1 controls the scale LED navigation lights, you do not need to purchase a separate lighting kit, it's already installed.

At this time the E-Flite mCX Tandem Rescue is only available as a "ready to fly" - hopefully a  bind-n-fly version will soon be available.

mCX Tandem Rescue BatterySince the E-Flite mCX Tandem Rescue RTF uses two different rotors with 4 separate motors, it needs a much larger battery to fly. Introducing the new 250mAh 1S 3.7V Li-Po single cell LiPo battery. [EFLB2501S]

Hmmm... Time to check the fit to my Parkzone Ultra-Micro Sukhoi & Mustang.

Celectra 1S 3.7 Variable Rate chargerThis battery has twice the capacity of the mCX battery and comes with a new single cell charger, a Celectra 1S 3.7 Variable Rate charger that features a variable charge rate from 0.1 amps up to 0.7 amps.

This charger can also charge our smaller 70mah & 110mah batteries at the proper rate instead of the fast charge that occurs with the supplied mCX and Parkzone 1 cell chargers.

We've already discovered that E-Flite mCX Tandem Rescue can take quite a bit of abuse and still be a pleasure to fly, especially for the first time flyer!

This little Heli is the perfect indoor size, with an interference free 2.4ghz DSM2 radio, excellent parts support - E-Flite has done it again by giving us another treasure.

This little heli will undoubtedly be popular for years to come.
